The purpose of this study is to understand the causal relationship between lean practices and firm performance, with competitive advantage proposed as playing the moderating role. A survey was carried out to identify the effects of six lean practices, namely process and equipment, manufacturing planning and control, human resource practices, product design, supplier relations and customer relationship on a firm’s performance, which comprise perception of financial and non-financial measures. The study comprises of 238 observations of Thai companies. The parameters are estimated by ordinary least squares (OLS). The results of this study suggest a negative relationship between lean practices and non-financial performance. Nevertheless, there appears to be a significant positive relationship between competitive advantage and the implementation of lean practices in firms. The scope of the study was limited to companies in Thailand and, therefore, its findings might not be generalizable to other national contexts.
Sutama Thunyachai, Ravi Lonkaniand, Adisak Theeranuphattana Copyright (c) 2020 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://so01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/bahcuojs/article/view/245286 Fri, 25 Dec 2020 00:00:00 +0700 Revealed Comparative Advantage of Rubber Exports between Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia https://so01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/bahcuojs/article/view/151695
The study aimed to study the competitive advantage of rubber export in Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia by using Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA). Secondary data used were annual time-series data from 2009 to 2013. The results showed that Thailand is the only country that has the potential of comparative advantage in exporting latex, smoked rubber sheets and block rubber due to RCA index higher than 1. Indonesia has the potential and competitiveness in exporting only smoked rubber sheets and block rubber. For latex can be seen that Indonesia has a disadvantage because the RCA index is less than 1. Therefore, Indonesia may lose the ability to compete in the production of rubber in the world market. Malaysia has RCA index greater than 1 in exporting latex and block rubber except for smoked rubber sheets with RCA index less than 1. Therefore showing that Thailand has the greatest advantage and potential, thus, should accelerate the production of latex, smoked rubber sheets and block rubber for sale to the world market. Furthermore, the Thai government should focus on and support domestic rubber production in order to increase the competitiveness of other countries and to create sustainability for Thai rubber exports in the future.

Surakiat Parichatnon1, Kamonthip Maichum, Anupong Wongchai Copyright (c) 2020 Business Review Journal https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://so01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/bahcuojs/article/view/151695 Fri, 25 Dec 2020 11:28:42 +0700 The Marketing Distribution Channels Development for Snake-Skined Gourami Through the Community Enterprise Networks Within Thailand Market https://so01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/bahcuojs/article/view/241291
The objective of this research is to study the current administration relative to the Conservation of the Bang Bo snake-skin gourami and processing community enterprise, Khlong Dan Sub-district, Bangbo District, Samutprakan Province, in order to pave the way of developing an enterprise management system as well as proposing possible distribution channels through community enterprise networks in different areas of Thailand.
