Abstract

This research objectives were to 1) study the current situation 2) analyze the SWOT 3)study the participation process in tourism management and 4) develop the tourism planning of Akkarad drum making village, Pa Mok County, Ang Thong Province. The study was applied the participatory action research. The key informants were drum makers, community leaders, district- chief officer, chief of executive of the SAO, consultant and officer of subdistrict administrative organization. The research found that 1) The villagers are specialized on drum making. 2) The strength of village is on cultural asset while Angthong province is the bypass route. However, it’s lack of continuous in public relations and only use Thai language in publicizing. Though, Akkarad drum making village has the opportunity on experienced tourism by using cultural asset on drum making. The important treat is Thai tourists uninterested in cultural tourism. 3) The members participating process are formed as informal like relative. 4) For macro level planning in tourism, the government agencies should integrate community activities and promote public relations continuously. For micro level planning tourism, community members should participate in other activities than drum traditional festival.
