DEVELOPING HOMSTAY’S TOURISM RESOURCES TO COMMUNITY HOMESTAYS PARTICIPATION IN CHIANG RAK YAI SUB-DISTRICT, SAM KHOK DISTRICT, PATHUM THANI PROVINCE

The objectives of research were 1) to develop and organize types of tourism’s resources in Chiang Rak Yai Subdistrict, Sam Khok District, Pathum Thani Province into systematically linked to Tourism homestay and 2) to create a model homestay tourism properly for this community. The key informants including 1) one formal leader and one spiritual community leader 2) 30 members of the community who participated in the building
homestay project. 3) one successful network with homestay entrepreneur. The instruments were participation in activity, dialogue and interview. All information was analyzed by interpretation.
The results of the study showed that cultural tourism as homestay resources were proper and readiness to operate community homestay. There were divided into 2 elements: 1) the first is outside community elements consist of; (1) the community located at riverbank of Chao Phraya River, (2) cultural richness and identity, (3) community learning center, (4) cooperation of network partners. These elements would be improved and enhanced integrity. 2) The second is inside community elements consist of; (1) community harmony, (2) community aspiration to think and work together, those inside elements would be completely created. The results of discussion about the readiness were divided into 3 groups. The first group was ready to be built immediately after this research was completed. The second group would be operation but have to wait for the right time. The third group was ready to build but have to wait and see the results from the first and the second group. Creating a homestay in Chiang Rak Yai from considering two elements above it should be a specific model that was appropriate for the Chiang Rak Yai community. Therefore, the suitable model was underneaththe both elements is “building a homestay based on community, comprehensive learning,
and complete integrated recreation”, it will influence to the satisfaction of both individuals and groups of tourists.
