Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the current and desired state for improving school administration towards excellence of school administrators under Samut Sakon Provincial Education Office, and 2) to study the needs for improving school administration towards excellence of the school administrators. The research sample group comprised of 278 school administrators and teachers. A questionnaire on essential requirements for improvement towards excellence of school administrators was used as an instrument for data collection. The statistics used for data analysis were analyzed by mean, standard deviation, and PNI modified.

          The research results were found that: 1) the current states were at a high level            (= 4.25, S.D.=.42) in overall, and the desired states were at the highest level (= 4.64, S.D. = .54), and 2) the first three needs for improving school administration towards excellence of the school administrators were workforce focus” (PNI modified=0.239), measurement, analysis and knowledge management” (PNI modified=0.117), and outcomes (PNI modified=0.112).
