PROFESSIONAL LEADERSHIP OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS IN PHETCHABURI PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 1

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to: 1) study the professional leadership of school administrators in Phetchaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 and 2)compare the professional leadership of school administrators.The sample group consisted of 291 administrators and teachers under Phetchaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 1.  The instrument to collect quantitative data was a rating scale questionnaire.  Statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and pairwise comparison of mean scores by Chef's method.

The findings were as follows: 1) the administrators and teachers under Phetchaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 had high opinions regarding the professional leadership of school administrators, both overall and in each aspect, and 2) the comparative results of the administrators and teachers’ opinions towards the professional leadership of school administrators were found that the administrators and teachers with different educational backgrounds had statistically insignificant differences in their opinions regarding the professional leadership of administrators, both overall and in each aspect, while the social and community leaders were significantly different at the .05 level. In addition, the administrators and teachers with different work experiences had statistically insignificant differences in their opinions regarding the professional leadership of school administrators and it was also found that the administrators and teachers working in schools of different sizes had statistically significant differences in their opinions regarding the professional leadership of school administrators at a statistical significance level of .05.
