Abstract

Locus Control Affecting Organizational Climate: Industrial Factories Case Study, Pathumthani Province

The purpose of this research was to study personal factors affecting

organizational climate and to study internal and external locus control affecting organizational climate by quantitative research. The samples of this study were 385 administrators and industrial factories officers from 20 factories in Pathumthani province and analyzed the data from the dependent and independent variable that related the relationship with the hypothesis setting. The data were collected by questionnaires and the descriptive data analyzed were presented in frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, f-test and the least significant difference by Scheffe’s method.

The study results showed that the majority of respondents were females who aged 31 years old and up, secondary level of education, 1-5 years working experienced, permanent officers who worked in factories on officer position.

Locus control affecting organizational climate, the results showed that the overall were at the high level. Faith in reason and stability were the highest opinions, followed by adapting to the empowerment, convince someone to believe without reasons, achievement motive and decision making with the averages were at 3.88 orderly. When considering all aspects found that the level of locus control of personnel was at the high level.

External locus control, the results found that the overall were at the moderate level. The highest level was an information search for problem solving, followed by the other advices; accepting and anxiety. Enthusiasm was at the low level when considering all aspects found that external locus control of personnel was at the moderate level.

Internal and external locus control forecasting, the results showed that the correlation coefficient [R]was at .680 and [R2] was at .463 in 46. 3 % with statistically significant difference at 0.05. The forecast of internal locus control affecting organizational climate was statistically significant difference at 0.05.The forecast of external locus control affecting organizational climate was statistically significant difference at 0.05 in accordance with the hypothesis setting.
