Abstract

Thailand is in the middle of an agricultural crisis. Because farmers have increasingly used chemicals for agriculture until those toxins are left in vegetables, fruits of many farmers. Agencies in both the public and private sectors are aware of the dangers of agricultural chemicals which found in Thailand. They have tried to present and require the government to review the dangers and consequences of using agricultural chemicals that affect the health of agriculture and consumers as well as negatively affecting the environment but it seems such efforts have not been successful due to the following factors: 1. Communication problems in the national level. Any government agencies who involved in chemical policy formulation do not have the determination to impose decisive measures on the prohibition of the use of highly toxic agricultural chemicals 2.Communication problems in local level such as people in the community. They cannot mobilize forces to reduce chemical use thoroughly and they are not sincere or intend to participate in the real reduction of the use of chemicals. Seen from people in the general community, there is also a value in favor of comfortable working in agriculture, resulting in continuous use of agricultural chemicals. In addition, the main reason is that capitalists and large companies bring income and benefits from agriculture to attract people in the community to produce more crops that rely on chemicals. 3. Individual communication problems such as community leaders do not pay attention or Intends to work seriously for reducing and abolishing agricultural chemicals. In some communities, village leaders have many missions until there is no free time to create communication between leaders and community members. In addition, many farmers still lack communication and support for continuous organic farming. For solutions need to cooperate with all sectors and must do it at the same time from the government level to the farmers level, for example, the government must strictly control the importation of dangerous chemicals from the reduction of chemical use. The mass media organization must help to present news about the environmental situations, keep an eye on the health and safety situation report also the danger of using agricultural chemicals all the times.
