There has been increasing recognition of the critical issues of environmental and social problems society. Sustainability is commonly used in varied ways. Sustainability is a broad discipline. Sustainability will go into many fields. What is sustainability? What does it mean? What are the principles and pillars behind sustainability? What examples of sustainability are there in many contexts? How is sustainability connected to education?
This article analyzes the concepts of sustainability and sustainable development. Sustainability in education is emphasized. The author suggests educational sustainability related to sustainability knowledge, sustainability skills and abilities, and sustainability attitudes, values, ethics and behaviors. She draws the conclusions regarding educational change needed to achieve sustainability in order to cultivate sustainability citizenship for the present and the future.
