The The Role of the Police in the Development of the Southern Border Region

Abstract

This research aimed to study the public's opinion on the role of police in developing the southern border region and to compare public opinions on the role of police in developing the southern border region, classified by personal factors. The sample group used in the research consisted of 400 people. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Data analysis for comparing public opinion on the role of police in developing the southern border region, classified by personal factors. Statistical analysis employed percentages, arithmetic means, standard deviations, and analysis of variance (ANOVA). Findings revealed that overall public perception of the police role in southern border region development was rated at a high level. Comparative analysis by personal factors showed that individuals with different marital statuses held significantly different views regarding the police role in southern border development (p < .05). Based on these findings, the study recommends that training curricula for police cadets and civil servants at Police Training Center 9 should incorporate comprehensive instruction on local culture, lifestyle practices, religious principles, and regional languages relevant to southern border communities. This enhanced training should be implemented across all course offerings.
