Guidelines for promoting beef cattle production of Armed Forces Development Command

Abstract

          The objective of this study was to determine about beef cattle in situation the present, factors affecting the promotion of beef cattle raising, and proposing guidelines for promoting beef cattle production of Armed Forces Development Command. At present, the production of beef cattle in Thailand is insufficient for domestic consumption demand. It has also been affected by FTA Thai-Australia, which imports frozen cattle products. The situation of the African swine fever (ASF) outbreak in surrounding countries is increasing the distribution opportunity for farmers. The study of factors affecting beef cattle promotion through SWOT analysis with internal factors analysis to identify strengths and weaknesses of the beef cattle market and assess situations about external factors for opportunities and obstacles until obtaining guidelines for promoting beef cattle production of Armed Forces Development Command in three sections. As follows: The first, to support the careers of beef cattle raising, staff must have comprehensive information about the use of information technology to aid in considering career promotion. Second, supporting artificial insemination staff through developing knowledge, specific skills with expertise and be a coordinator in working with farmers and government officials. The third, the frozen semen production by organizing knowledge management (KM) to extract knowledge from people to transfer them with personnel and bring technology to help work more efficiently.
