Personal Characteristics and Participation for Conserving Natural Resources and Environment in Khuan So Subdistrict, Khuan Niang District, Songkhla Province

This study is a quantitative research. Its aims approach to study people’s participation for conseving natural resources and environment and to compare the differences of personal characteristics and people’s participation in Khuan So Subdistrict, Khuan Niang District, Songkhla Province. The samples of this research compose of 356 people who are habitant eligible in Khuan So Subdistrict. Questionnaire is an instrument in collecting data. Percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA and LSD are statistical means employed. The level of statistical significance is set at 0.05.
The finding reveals that not only people’s participation for conserving natural resouces and envronment is high level (m = 3.93), but all elemnts of participation are higt level also. Moreover, the element of benefit gain is highest mean (m = 4.02), while the element of performing (m = 4.00) decesion making (m = 3.95) and evaluating (m = 3.71) are inferior mean. Hypothesis testing results show the characteristics of age, educational level, and occupation have significant people’s participation for conserving natural resources and environment at level 0.05. Whilst, the characteristics of gender has no significant people’s participation.
