THE STUDY OF TEACHERS DEVELOPING MODELS IN TEACHING BY THINKING, IN A SMALL PRIMARY SCHOOL

The purposes of this research are 1) to study problems and needs in developing teachers to teach by thinking. 2) to study the models and its result in developing teachers to teach by thinking. 3) to study consequence developed in the students who study with the teachers trained to teach by thinking. The research is processed in 3 phrases: 1) To study the problems and needs in developing teachers to teach by thinking. Observation and Interviewing form are applied for the research in the first phrase. 2) To study teacher developing model in teaching by thinking. Lesson plan assessment form, teaching-assessment form, and Interviewing form are applied for the research in the second phrase. 3) To study the consequence developed in the students who study with the teachers trained to teach by thinking. Tools used for the research are the achievement assessment form for learning by thinking, and a questionnaire asking for the students’ opinion towards teaching by the teachers. The target groups for the study are eight teachers in the
academic year 2015 and 2016, for the Thais, Mathematics, Sciences, Visual Arts, Music and Thai Classical Dances, Information Technology, and 106 students from Prathom 1-6 in the academic year 2016.
Results suggested the purpose of the research that 1) Most the students have fewer skills in reading, writing, calculating, problem-solving, procedure management, and creative thinking, which are caused by the teachers who lack principle, methodology, and skills in teaching by thinking. 2) The teachers developing a model in teaching by thinking is workshop and supervision training, which helps achievement in teaching and constructs lesson plan for teaching by thinking. 3) Most students have their study achievement up to grade 4.0, and also have the opinions to their teachers’ teaching at the excellent every issue such as content, teaching, and instructional media.
