CHANGE MANAGEMENT MODEL PROFESSIONAL SKILLS OF COMMUNITIES IN BANG TALAT SUB-DISTRICT OF PAK KRET MUNICIPALITY NONTHABURI

Abstract

The research aimed to study: (1) Change of career skills of the communities in Bang Talat Sub-district of Pak Kret Municipality Nonthaburi. (2) Factors affecting success in changing the skills of the Communities in Bang Talat Sub-district of Pak Kret Municipality Nonthaburi. (3) Propose a management model for the change of occupational skills of the community for sustainability. The study method was a mixed methods research that was based on qualitative research, namely a study using document analysis, in-depth interviews with 27 people, group discussions of 12 people, a trial of 30 people, and a community forum setting of 30 people. The study also used quantitative research to support the qualitative research results by distributing 408 questionnaires from a sample group of people in communities in Bang Talat Sub-district. The results of the research were as follows:

  1. Change of occupational skills of communities in Bang Talat Sub-district of Pak Kret Municipality Nonthaburi consists of: (1) Enhancement and development of quality of life, including occupation, income generation, community members participating in activities, and occupations that maintain the community identity. (2) Increasing the potential of the community to be self-reliant, such as using community resources, creating livelihoods for the people in the community, reducing household debt, and enhancing the development of community products. (3) Having a good quality of life according to the sufficiency economy philosophy such as being self-reliant, increasing income, reducing expenses, and having a worthwhile use of resources in the community.
  2. Factors affecting the success of changes in occupational skills of the communities in Bang Talat Sub-district of Pak Kret Municipality Nonthaburi consists of: (1) Internal factors were community potential, ie availability and potential, products, distribution channels, sales promotion, and the promotion and career development of Pak Kret Municipality, including plans and policies, projects and management, and promoting product development and provide distribution channels. (2) External factors were society, economy, information technology, politics and policy, international situation, and crisis. (3) Citizen participation was participation in planning, participation in decision-making, participation in operations, participation in benefiting, and evaluation. (4) Change management consists of change management components which are organizational structure, organizational operators, available technology in the organization, and organizational culture, and the process of change management, namely raising awareness of the importance, establishing a vision, building cooperation, empowering continuous and sustainable change.
  3. The management model of community career skills transformation for sustainability consisted of systems and mechanisms of collaboration between municipalities, communities, the private sector, and the public sector through processes of consensus, building mechanisms and method of change, creating mechanisms, methods of sustaining change, and sustaining the power of change in order to achieve the goals of community career enhancement, success goals, and sustainability.
