A Research on redundant syllable in rhyme tables of Shiji Zhengyi

Abstract

There are instances of partial mingling of rhyme parts in the Shiji Zhengyi, mainly in the case of rhymes that have the chongyun (rhymes with common features but under different headings) and same rhyme groups but different division, it belongs to Accidental mingling , and it is only limited to same rhyme groups internal mingling, but does not yet constitute a condition for mingling rhyme , which means that no rhyme mingling occurs. The Chong niu yun (redundant syllable in rhyme tables) A and B of the Shiji Zhengyi are used by labial, velar, glottal as the second sinigram in a fanqie are without exception, without using the characters of both sides as second sinigram in a fanqie, so that the differences between A and B can be distinguished. As for the characters with lingual and dental as second sinigram in a fanqie they are more complicated, initial Yun and initial Zhi group belong to class B, initial Zhang group, initial Jing group, initial RI and initial Yi belong to class A, initial Lai has the same number as A and B as second sinigram in a fanqie.
