Abstract

แดเนียล แอล โอเวอร์ไมเยอร์ เป็นนักวิชาการชาวตะวันตกที่มีชื่อเสียงในการศึกษา Precious Volumes งานของเขาเป็นการแนะนำและสืบค้นงานด้านนิกายหรือสำนักทางศาสนาช่วงสมัยหมิงถึงชิงตอนต้น มีการจัดระบบข้อมูลและวิจัยข้อมูลดังกล่าวเพื่อศึกษาคุณค่าของงานเหล่านั้น แต่สิ่งที่น่าเสียดายเป็นอย่างยิ่งคือ การตีความช่วงเวลาที่คลาดเคลื่อน ก่อให้เกิดความเข้าใจผิด แต่แม้ว่าจะเป็นเช่นนั้น ก็ไม่ได้ทำลายคุณค่าของเอกสารเหล่านั้น มุมมอง วิธีการและระบบความคิด ยังคงกระตุ้นให้เกิดแนวคิดและการนำไปใช้ในงานที่เกี่ยวข้องอีกมากมาย

欧大年（Daniel L. Overmyer）是西方宝卷研究的首席学者，其著作《宝卷：十六至十七世纪中国宗教经卷导论》（Precious Volumes），介绍与探讨了明清两朝初期中国民间宗教教派的宝卷文献，整理了宝卷文献及研究资料，并揭示宝卷的文献价值。全书最大的遗憾，在于欧氏错误判断《皇极宝卷》的年份，导致论述发生谬误。虽然如此，却无法汩没全书的价值与精彩。《宝卷：十六至十七世纪中国宗教经卷导论》的研究视角、方法及宏阔思维，仍能予人以借鉴与启发。

The Bridge of Communication: A Review of “Precious Volumes”

Daniel L. Overmyer is the most famous western scholar who studied the 'Baojuan'.In his Precious Volumes has introduced and investigated the religious sect between the Ming and early Qing dynasties which were believed to have been revealed and provided valuable information. Unfortunately, he failed to judge the year of the 'HuangjiBaojuan' , leading to the occurrence of confusion in his discussion. Even so, we still cannot neglect the valuable and the contribution of the Previous Volumes. From Precious Volumes's research perspectives, method and its cogitation, it still can be used as reference and inspiration in future research works.
