The People’s Participation in Drug Prevention in Arge of Suan Yai Subdistrict, Muang District, Nonthaburi Province.

Abstract

          The purposes of this study were: 1) to study the people’s participation in drug prevention in Suan Yai Subdistrict, Muang district, Nonthaburi province and 2) to compare personal factors influence the people’s participation in drug prevention in Suan Yai Subdistrict, Muang district, Nonthaburi province. The study was a quantitative research. Questionnaires were distnibuted to the people of Suan Yai Subdistrict, Muang district, Nonthaburi province. The samples were about 400 persons. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA (F-test) and LSD method.

          The findings were as follows :1) The people’s participation in drug prevention Suan Yai Subdistrict, Muang district, Nonthaburi province was at a moderate level. When considered individually, it was found that the mean of ‘suppression’ was at the highest follow by ‘prevention’ and, the ‘dissemination of information and knowledge about drugs’ was at the lowest. 2) The comparative results on people’s participation in drug prevention in Suan Yai Subdistrict, Muang district, Nonthaburi province show that; in terms of sexes, educational, occupations and period of residence in the community it was found that different factors contributed to different results, while the factor of ‘age’ does not produce different result (significance level of .05)
