Development of a Non-formal Education Activity for the Elderly of the Aging Club at Sirikit Hospital

Abstract

This study was a quasi-experimental research. The aims of this research were: 1) to study the state, problems, and needs of non-formal education activities for the elderly in the aging club at Sririkit Hospital; 2) to develop a non-formal education activity plan for the elderly in the aging club at Sririkit Hospital, and 3) to find the result of using non-formal education activities for the elderly in the aging club at Sririkit Hospital. The sample participants were the elderly in the aging club at Sririkit Hospital. The research instruments used in this research were: 1) questionnaires and interview forms to survey the current state, problems, and needs of non-formal education activities for the elderly in the aging club at Sririkit Hospital; 2) non-formal education activity plans for the elderly in the aging club at Sririkit Hospital, and 3) questionnaires evaluating the results of using non-formal education activities for the elderly in the aging club at Sririkit Hospital. The collected data were analyzed by means of arithmetic mean and percentage. The research findings were summarized as follows: The experimental group achieved a satisfaction score for the non-formal education activity at the highest level.
