This paper examines the traditional Dushan jade carving art in Henan Province, China, focusing on its material culture, innovative design, and cultural heritage inheritance. Through a multidisciplinary approach combining literature review, field investigation, and case studies, the research explores the geological characteristics, physical properties, and cultural significance of Dushan jade, as well as the traditional techniques and contemporary innovations in jade carving. The study highlights the historical origins, aesthetic values, and symbolic meanings of Dushan jade carving art. It analyzes the challenges and opportunities faced by this ancient craft in the context of modernization and globalization. The findings suggest that the preservation and promotion of Dushan jade carving art require a balance between tradition and innovation, and most importantly, a strong sense of unity and shared responsibility among multiple stakeholders, including government, industry, academia, and local communities. The paper concludes with policy recommendations for strengthening the safeguarding of Dushan jade carving as an intangible cultural heritage and revitalizing the jade carving industry for sustainable development.
