The meaning and origin of volunteer activities : process and guidelines of students in Faculty of Business Administration. Huachiew Chalermprakiet University
Abstract
This research is qualitative research . Using in-depth interviews. The study aim to provide the meaning and origin of meaning including the process and quidance for “volunteer” of undergradute students, Faculty of Business Administration, Huachiew Chalermprakiet University. The instrument used in this research was structured interview questions. Data was collected from the student representative on the operational side, two groups of volunteers in the 2015 academic year as Group 1 volunteer in Bangkok , Group 2 volunteer at the village Laiwo. Sangkhlaburi Kanchanaburi. The results of the interview, we found that the intended meaning of “volunteerism” were in 3 area 1. to help society, 2. benefits to society, and 3. Responding to social problems without expecting anything in return. For Steps to volunteer work, all four step of Deming cycle was used to improve the planning process (PDCA). Guidance for students of the Faculty of volunteer activity in the future consist of six dimension as 1. to dress and speak politely 2. Use clearly communicated banner 3. Formal contact of requesting to use any location 4. Keep all documents and evidence Report 5. Use pictures to describe your work 6. Continued volunteering at seniors had made.
