Self-employed Development of People in Samut Prakan’s Province in accordance with the Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy
This research aimed to study the understanding in Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy concept of the people in Samut Prakan Province, the application of self-employed development and to analyze the usage of Sufficiency Economy related to self-employed, and to find the appropriate guideline to strengthen their self-employed. This research design was conducted by using research methodology both qualitative and quantitative method. The research tools were questionnaire and interview. The participants were 127 selected by using purposive sampling technique from housewifes or new entrepreneurs who participate in operation training project. Interview was done with 5 stakeholders who involved in selfemployed development such as the Samut Prakan governor, political leader in local area, community leadership, the administrator of polytechnic college, and the representative relevant to self-employed development project in Samut Prakan Province. Both quantitative
and qualitative data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
The analysis results discovered that the knowledge factor of self-employed people nearly in agreement with the knowledge factor that the Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy resulted in self-independence, moderate practice of life-being, and having luxury products however not disturb to the others, do their business in moderate approach and it had been an ideal concept with profit interruption. In the sufficiency, reasonable and self-immunity principle all factors were moderate score. The results of interview showed that the Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy resulted in maintain their business and it had been not necessary to competition with outsiders, efficiency of resource usage, reducing cost and income distribution, consider competitor as business partnership, business strengthen and self-immunity, live together with happiness and not disturb to others. The appropriate way to create strengthen in self-employed was to establish the training center, provide short-term
training course. The most important problems were community’s information shortage, lack of knowledge and experience.
