Abstract

This article comparison of hotel employee’s work between Thailand and other countries by gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing relevant researches over the past 10 years, in order to generate the motivation as required of employees in the hotel industry using Alderfer’s ERG theory that consists of: 1) Existence Needs, 2) Relatedness Needs, and 3) Growth Needs. The study found that some work-related motivational variables cannot be integrated into the aforesaid group of factors based on the ERG theory. Therefore, the researcher has set an ERGW motivation model, in which those work-related factors were added to the original ERG model. However, this study requires a variable testing process to confirm the validity and reliability of the ERGW conceptual framework of hotel employees’ motivation in the future.
