Abstract

Workplace Spirituality (WPS) is an ever-growing topic, with the concept that it is beneficial to employees and organizations. There still are study gaps regarding organizations with different objectives and successful international organizations (for Thai studies). This paper explores values and WPS development strategies for Non-Profit and For-Profit organizations (NPOs/FPOs) through content and narrative analysis of each organization and comparative analysis. The sample is four foreign (United States and Canadian) organizations that received International Faith and Spirit at Work Awards. The results show that the NPOs/FPOs have values consistent with their mission/vision and reflect WPS; the social mission versus the mission to create business value induce different values in the inner life dimension. The research benefit is the relationship between different WPS dimensions and values, vision/mission, and leadership. Suggested application is the continued coherence between policies/processes, actions/activities, and supporting facilities for effective WPS development.
