Abstract

The objective of this article is to study the draft law of Promoting Marine and Coastal Resources Management Act B.E. ... in the context of organization, role and its authority in marine and coastal resource management. From the study, there are integrated principle regarding resource management which is a cooperation between the public sector and the coastal community as following: Establish national marine and coastal resources committee; recognize status and role of coastal community for participating in resource management, found marine and coastal resource fund in order to support resource management; create a mechanism to promote participative management among stakeholders; specify a measure to manage resources both for general and special cases; and establish a working group to coordinate between stakeholders in relation to resource management.
