A Structural Model of Transformational Leadership for Industrial Sector

Abstract

The competitive environment of industry is more complicated due to the incoming of AEC. Leaders of organization must adapt themselves to meet the climate of competition. The purpose of this article was to investigate the causal factor of the organization’s performance mediated by transformational leadership. This study was conducted using a literature review related to those factors. In-depth interviews with 24 executives were later conducted to verify those factors with the industrial context. The result showed the relationship between transformation leadership and organization’s performance mediated by many factors, and that can be linked as a causal model of transformational leadership in the industry context. This model can be applied to an empirical study to examine the relationship among the variables, thus increasing the knowledge in field of management science and serving as guidelines to develop the company's strategy in the future.

โมเดลโครงสร้างผู้นำเชิงปฏิรูปในภาคอุตสาหกรรม

การเปลี่ยนแปลงของสภาพการแข่งขันภาคอุตสาหกรรมในปัจจุบันที่ซับซ้อนมากขึ้นจากการเตรียมเข้าสู่ประชาคมเศรษฐกิจอาเซียน ส่งผลให้ผู้นำในองค์การภาคอุตสาหกรรมต้องปรับตัวเพื่อให้สอดคล้องต่อสภาพการแข่งขัน บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อค้นคว้าโมเดลปัจจัยเชิงสาเหตุของผลการปฏิบัติงานขององค์การผ่านภาวะผู้นำเชิงปฏิรูปในภาคอุตสาหกรรม โดยอาศัยการศึกษาแนวคิดทฤษฎีและการทบทวนวรรณกรรมที่เกี่ยวข้องเพื่อหาปัจจัยเชิงสาเหตุ และมีการทวนสอบให้สอดคล้องกับบริบทของภาคอุตสาหกรรมในสภาพการณ์ที่เป็นจริงจากการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกผู้บริหาร 24 ท่าน ใน 20 ประเภทอุตสาหกรรม โดยพบความสัมพันธ์เชิงสาเหตุระหว่าง ผู้นำเชิงปฏิรูป และผลการปฏิบัติงานขององค์การผ่านปัจจัยหลายๆ ด้านที่สอดคล้องตามแนวคิด ทฤษฎี และสามารถสร้างความเชื่อมโยงเป็นโมเดลความสัมพันธ์เชิงสาเหตุของผู้นำเชิงปฏิรูปในภาคอุตสาหกรรมเพื่อนำไปสู่การศึกษาเชิงประจักษ์เพื่อทดสอบความสัมพันธ์ของตัวแปร ซึ่งจะเป็นการเพิ่มองค์ความรู้ในศาสตร์ด้านการจัดการและแนวทางที่สามารถสร้างประโยชน์ต่อการดำเนินกลยุทธ์ขององค์การภาคอุตสาหกรรมได้ต่อไป
