The Creation of a Multicultural Network Based on the "Wao Beramas" Kite towards the International Kite Competition Festival in Yala Province

Abstract

The creation of a network based on the multicultural capital of "Wau Beramus" toward the International Kite Competition in Yala Province has the following objectives:    1) To study the historical background of the kite within the context of cultural capital in the southern border provinces, and 2) To build a network based on multicultural capital through the continuation of the International Kite Competition. This research is qualitative (Qualitative Research), utilizing in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and non-participatory observations. The research places emphasis on the perspectives of the stakeholders (Lay views), organizing workshops by grouping content variables and key issues for selecting the desired data. The collected data will be analyzed and synthesized, dividing the informants into the following five groups: 1) Government agencies 2) Local scholars and community intellectuals 3) Local artists, 4) Cultural entrepreneurs and 5) Youth in Yala Province.

The study's findings are as follows: 1) The historical study of the kite within the context of cultural capital in the southern border provinces consists of: 1) The cultural beliefs and uses of Wau Beramus, 2) Its connection to legends and performances, 3) Cultural preservation efforts, and 4) Its impact on the community. 2) The creation of a network based on multicultural capital through the continuation of the International Kite Competition.
