Abstract

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to study income structure, analyze factors affecting the income as well as analyze income distribution in relation to tribe of the Royal Project Foundation?s member in Chiang Mai province.The sample in this study are 134 farmers being member of the Royal Project Foundation in Chiang Mai province which are classified into 2 groups. 51 samples are market-oriented farming systems and 83 samples are semi-market oriented and subsistence farming systems.The result of study found that the average cash income of market-oriented families was 312,349 baht/family/year.The average cash income of semi-market oriented and subsistence families was 97,631 baht/family/year.The factors affecting the incomes of the Royal Project Foundation?s member in Chiang Mai province were such as the level of education of family?s head, the land holding size, the labor size in family and hill-tribe type. The study on income distribution of farmers showed that the income distribution of semi-market oriented and subsistence farming is better than that of market-oriented farming.
