An Evaluation of Recreation Benefit of Phu Kradueng National Park

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to determine factors that affect the visitors? willingness to pay (WTP) for recreational services of Phu Kradueng National Park, to measure the recreation benefit of the park, to estimate changes in recreation demand and recreation benefit if the cable car project were launched. The recreation benefit was estimated by using Zonal Travel Cost Method (ZTCM). The research found that recreation benefit of Phu Kradueng National Park in 2005 was 76,76,427,964 Baht. The recreation demand and recreation benefit will increase to be 134,895,890 Baht if cable car project is completed, Therefore the policy maker could use the recreation benefit with other variables such as environmental and social impacts, carrying capacity, and ecological limitations to propose the appropriate policies on developing Phu Kradueng National Park.
