CORRELATION BETWEEN SPACE AND PERFORMANCE

Abstract

The research on Correlation between Space and Performance aim at. The objectives of this research were to investigate a variety of venues for performances and to study the relationship between the use of performance venues and the dance type. A mixed methods research was used as the research design to collect data from related documents, field trip, and interview. The scope of this research emphasized on a variety of using performance venues from the past until 2019, and the relationship between the use of the performance venue and the dance type in Thailand. The results of this research indicated that dance venues used in the performances were various and could be classified into nine categories, namely yard, track, archaeological site, natural source, vehicle, public building, house, pool, and miscellaneous style. Different styles of dance performance have their own customs. In this regard, there were various and different venues for performances and living space, as well as the placement of the performance equipment in each show. For this reason, the style, size, and physical characteristic of different venues was different. In conclusion, performance venues and dance performance shall be associated each other to chive the most perfection of individual performance type.
