Integrating Eurasian Culture in museum design in the northern People’s Republic of China

Abstract

The objectives of this research were (1) to study and analyze the value and importance of cultural diversity; Basic characteristics and the management status of museums in northern China Integration of European and Asian cultures and artistic design guidelines and (2) to analyze the environment characteristics of the layout of the Northern China Museum, development and integration of Eurasian culture for the layout design of the Northern China Museum.


This study is a qualitative research. By means of a literature review and interviews with five experts, including curators, designers and Eurasian culture scholars, an integrated model for the design of museums in northern China was obtained.


The results of the research found that: (1) Eurasian culture there are different cultural elements of both Europe and Asia. Integration of Eurasian culture reflects cultural identity, architectural styles, exhibitions, symbols, and characteristics of the northern region of the People's Republic of China. Including the integration of cultural elements taking into account the connotation characteristics of the exhibition format and characteristics of the culture and (2) museum design with Eurasian cultural connotations. It reflects the aesthetics of combining classic European style with traditional asian elements including exchange and cultural influences of integration. Interaction of common culture and cultural identity, foster awareness and respect for common cultures. Promote cross-cultural communication exchanges to create understanding between cultures awareness and participation in the protection of Eurasian cultural heritage.
