The Creation of Paintings Utilizing Projection Mapping to Present Biodiversity in Songkhla Lake Basin

Abstract

The research “The Creation of Paintings Utilizing Projection Mapping to Present Biodiversity in Songkhla Lake Basin” aims to study ecological systems and biological diversity in Songkhla Lake Basin. The following steps are: 1) Study the relevant knowledge of Songkhla Lake Basin's ecological system and biodiversity to promote environmental awareness through art. 2) Create mixed-media paintings with projection mapping on 2D paintings. The research methodology is to study various concepts and theories involved in creating mixed media paintings from waste materials collected from field surveys. The completed work is photographed to create a moving image using After Effects. In the post-production step, recorded natural sounds are added to the sound to match the moving image. The summary of creativity found that 1) contemporary artworks that contribute to promoting environmental conservation. 2) Mixed-media paintings with various materials and techniques that depict the beauty of natural ecosystem 3) The augmented reality is overlaid on the 2D painting to change the perception of the still images into moving images. 4) The artworks emphasize content value: the importance of the environment, relationships between living things in nature, and human actions that affect the environment.
