PRODUCT DESIGN FOR CREATING FRESH STUCCO ARTS CASE STUDY OF FRESH STUCCO IN PHETCHABURI

Abstract

Product design for creating fresh stucco arts A case study of fresh stucco in Phetchaburi is qualitative research. The purpose is to study and research information about the process and patterns in fresh stucco to be used as a guide for designing products for use as equipment for practice and creation. The study involved field surveys and in-depth interviews with five artisans from the Phetchaburi fresh stucco craftsmanship. The collected data were synthesized into key findings, revealing the following: Stucco creation equipment is a product designed with the material and process of creating fresh stucco mainly in mind, which is that the material has a fine texture and can be mixed with water to make it more liquid for easy creation, so it is suitable for use in the form of pressing. The process is molded by fresh molding, so it must be done one by one and assembled into various shapes that are designed. The resulting product also increases the potential for the production of stucco handicrafts to make them easier to produce and can create a standard for the workpiece in only two steps: pressing the fresh stucco to form a shape and drying it. In addition, products for creating fresh stucco can also be used as teaching material on the process of creating wisdom for young people or those who are interested. It can also be used as a device for creating art according to imagination, which is considered a tool for learning and developing national arts and crafts and a guide for conservation in another way.
