Characteristics and Aesthetics of Folk Pottery in Guanyao Town, Hubei Province To Create Contemporary Ceramic Art

Abstract
This study focuses on the characteristics and aesthetics of folk pottery in Guanyao Town, Hubei Province. The purpose is to study the history and evolution of pottery in Guanyao Town, Hubei Province, analyze the characteristics and aesthetics of pottery in Guanyao Town, and create a new knowledge system for contemporary ceramic art.
The researcher conducted a study through document research and field surveys, which provided data reflecting the local identity of pottery from Guan Yao Town in terms of history, materials, forms, decoration, and techniques. The researcher then applied theories of aesthetics, art symbolism, and anthropological art analysis to evaluate the research results, leading to conclusions about the characteristics and aesthetics of pottery from the Guan family kiln, Li family kiln, and Lu family kiln, forming new knowledge. Additionally, experimental research and cross-disciplinary studies were employed to conduct chemical analysis of the raw materials used in pottery production from Guan Yao Town, as well as experiments with formulas, resulting in the most suitable material formulations for contemporary ceramic creation that embody the characteristics and aesthetics of pottery from Guan Yao Town. This provides a practical path for integrating traditional pottery art into contemporary artistic creation.
