Abstract

The creative research music composition : The Oriental Fantasy Overture for Symphony Orchestra, aims to create the new innovative composition. The program music has intended to express and link diversity of the Eastern cultural sound dimension. Meanwhile, it was combined the spectacular pattern of the East and the West altogether via the sound performance of the symphony orchestra The compositional technique combined the sound dimension and chromatic harmonic progression as the highlight in representing the West. The piece has approximate duration of 22 minutes. There are also integrated melodic layers and Baroque (1600-1750) polyphony as complexed supplementary. The woodwind sections whereby produced tone colour dimension.
