Printed Textile Patterns for Fashion Lifestyle Product Design: A Study of Thai Art and Community Life in Tha Tian, Rattanakosin Island.

Abstract

            This research aims to (1) study the arts and lifestyle of the community in Tha Tian, Rattanakosin Island, and (2) create textile patterns that incorporate knowledge derived from the arts and community life in Tha Tian for lifestyle fashion product design. The research process involved the study of theoretical and academic literature, observation and documentation of community activities, as well as field surveys to collect qualitative data on local traditions, culture, and architectural environments. Subsequently, the elements of Thai art and architecture present in the community, such as shapes, lines, colors, textures, and motifs, were analyzed, alongside the synthesis of local identity, to develop concepts and designs for textile patterns. The results of this research provide guidelines for creating patterns that clearly reflect local identity and can be further developed into commercial products, such as scarves, bags, hats, and decorative souvenirs. These outcomes contribute to strengthening the economy and enhancing the public image of the Tha Tian community, increasing its recognition and promoting sustainable development.
