Abstract
This article focuses on examining the characteristics and leadership roles of Professor Dr. Krasae Chanawongse, a prominent public health leader who has significantly contributed to the development of Thailand's health system. The study applies the conceptual framework of public health leadership, which includes: clear vision and strategic direction, effective communication, evidence-based decision-making, change leadership, network and collaboration building, emergency management capabilities, social accountability and ethics, and public health policy advocacy. Professor Dr. Krasae played a vital role in promoting policies and initiatives aimed at reducing health disparities, such as establishing rural health stations, promoting disease prevention, and advancing mental health through community-based programs. Additionally, he pioneered the adoption of telemedicine technology in the Thai health system to enhance service accessibility and efficiency. The study highlights that Professor Dr. Krasae’s leadership has driven transformative changes in both national and international public health systems, and serves as an exemplary model of leadership that can be adapted in other contexts to foster sustainable health system development.
