Causal Factors of Competency to Propagate Buddhism Aboard Affecting the Organizational Performance

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study the causal factors affecting competency to propagate Buddhism and organizational performance, 2)study the influence of causal factors of competency to propagate Buddhism affecting organizational performance, and 3) develop a model the causal factors of competency to propagate Buddhism affecting organizational performance. Used the mixed methods, the quantitative were collected data by questionnaire form sample group of 27 batches of foreign missionaries, totaling 500 samples and qualitative methods was collected through interviews from 6 key informants, including Dhammaduta Organization, abbots, and lecturers at the Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, and analysis by content analysis.

The results of the study revealed that 1) the causal factors is leadership affected competency to propagate Buddhism, leadership affected organizational performance through competency to propagate Buddhism 2) causal factors is learning affected competency to propagate Buddhism, training affected organizational performance through competency to propagate Buddhism and 3) model the causal factors of competency to propagate Buddhism affecting organizational performance included leadership and learning. Therefore, the abbot of a foreign temple may set the guidelines to develop leadership and learning for develop foreign missionary monks and temples abroad that will benefit the Dhammaduta organization and foreigners who are interested in studying the teachings of the Buddha.
