Factors Affecting the Decision to Study for the Bachelor of Education in Teaching Islamic Education of High School Students in Three Southern Border Provinces

This research aims to study the factors affecting the decision to study for the bachelor of education in Teaching Islamic Education of high school students in three southern border provinces. The target group used in this research was the high school students of private Islamic schools in the three southern border provinces, consisting of 6 schools, 50 persons per school, a total of 300 were obtained by purposing, which is a school with alumni currently studying in the field of teaching Islamic education. The research instrument was questionnaire. The data collected were statistically analyzed by mean, percentage and standard deviation.
The result of this research was the factors affecting the decision to study for the bachelor of education in Teaching Islamic Education in overall were high when considering each aspect, it was found that factors affecting the decision to study were high when sorting from the highest mean were curriculum, economic and social values courses, the image of the institution, the interest and personal reasons and related persons respectively.
