Study the Waqf land Management of Mosques in Bangkok and Surrounding Areas

Abstract

           This research aims to develop a management model of waqf land of mosques in Bangkok and its vicinity by conducting research by studying related research. In the field,    the researcher went to collect data by interviewing participants of religious leaders or imams as managers of waqf land of mosques in Bangkok and its vicinity. The researcher conducted    in-depth interviews with religious leaders of each mosque, experts, and Islamic jurists. The researcher selected 30 mosques with good personnel and management committees, systematic work, and clear plans. In addition, this research used the focus group discussion format to conduct research on the development of waqf land management models of mosques in Bangkok and its vicinity. The research results found that the development of waqf land of mosques is suitable for real estate development. The model to be used with waqf land requires the rental method, using the leasehold right as collateral instead of waqf land. This method allows the mosque to receive long-term income allocation and not have to bear risks. The mosques that are ready for development, with standard land size and shape, were selected. The most appropriate development method is land leasing, where developers lease land to build real estate for rent. By collecting rent at a price that the tenants can accept, it results in orderliness in living in the mosque's waqf land.
