Abstract
This descriptive research has 2 major objectives: 1) to study temporary contract teachers’ expectations for employee benefits and 2). to compare temporary contract teachers’ expectations for employee benefits with different background. The population comprised of 20 temporary contract teachers. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, t – test and One Way ANOVA.
The research findings were summarized as follows: 1) Temporary contract teachers’ expectations for employee were at high level, and the highest was opportunities to be promoted to permanent position. The lowest was opportunity to show ability by charge in important job. 2) Temporary contract teachers’ with different gender, age group and marital status had different expectations for employee benefits in 7 areas significance level of .05. The areas of difference were 1) monetary supporting for special occasions (i.e., losses due to natural disaster etc.) 2) Setting up funds for supporting additional expense in case of emergency illness. 3) programs to encourage personal saving and financial planning 4) accommodating pleasant workplace 5) providing bus transportation service from school – BTS or MRT 6) opportunities to be promoted to permanent position 7) granting temporary contract teachers’ children special consideration to enroll at school.
