Abstract
The purpose of this research was to study the need for supervision of teachers in group 3 in the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 1. Data were gathered from 96 teachers who from four different schools and eight departments. The questionnaire was about the need for supervision in four aspects including curriculum, teaching and learning management, instructional materials, and measurement and evaluation on a five-point scale. The statistical analysis used in the study included frequency distribution, percentages, mean, and standard deviation.
The research findings were as follows: the teachers in group 3 in the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 1 had an overall need for supervision in four aspects at a high level. It was shown that the highest need was for curriculum. When considering each aspect, the results showed as follows: 1) For curriculum, the teachers had the highest need for an analysis of the curriculum for teaching and learning management and the establishment of learning objectives in accordance with the curriculum. For teaching and learning management, teachers had the highest need for Active Learning approaches for teaching and learning management. Regarding instructional materials, teachers had the highest need for using the most suitable instructional materials for learning objectives, content, learning activities, and learners’ interest. For measurement and evaluation, teachers had the highest need for measurement and evaluation in accordance with learning objectives, content, and teaching methods.
