Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study the present and desirable states of management based on the principles of good governance of school administrators under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 1, Group 3. 2) Propose approaches for school management based on the principles of good governance. This survey research was conducted using a total number of 80 participants who were school administrators and teachers. The research instrument used to collect information was questionnaire. The received information was then analyzed using percentage, frequency, standard deviation, PNI modified and content analysis.

The results revealed that 1. Overall, current conditions of the school administration according to the good governance are in the high level. Moreover, desired conditions are in the highest level based on three priority needs (All three have the same value) which are equity, participation and cost effectiveness or economy. (PNI Modified = 0.26) 2. School administrative ways according to the good governance of the administrator consists of four ways which are: 1) School administrative way according to the good governance of the academic administration group based on equity and cost effectiveness or economy. 2) School administrative way according to the good governance of the personnel administration group based on equity, transparency and participation. 3) School administrative way according to the good governance of the budget management group based on equity, transparency and cost effectiveness or economy. 4) School administrative way according to the good governance of the general administration group based on equity, participation and cost effectiveness or economy.
