Abstract
The current research endeavor aimed to study cooperating teachers’ supervisory behaviors through assistant teachers’ needs in the Secondary Education Service Area Office 2. The sample adopted by the current study was 1,129 government teachers, educational personnel and assistant teachers in schools in the Secondary Education Service Area Office 2 between 2559 and 2560. The data was collected from 316 government teachers, educational personnel and assistant teachers in schools in the Secondary Education Service Area Office 2 by cluster random sampling. The data was collected by means of questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and content analysis.
Overall, the results revealed that cooperating teachers mainly demonstrated collaborative behaviors, followed by directive Informational behaviors and non-directive behaviors, respectively. Furthermore, the results indicated that the following seven aspects should be taken into consideration: 1) presentation, which could be considered as collaborative behaviors; 2) clarifying, which could be considered collaborative behaviors; 3) listening, which could be categorized as collaborative behaviors; 4) problem solving, which could be considered directive informational behaviors; 5) directing, which could be considered collaborative behaviors; 6) standardizing, which could be regarded as collaborative behaviors; and 7) reinforcing, which could be defined as non-directive behaviors.
