Abstract
The purposes of this study were (1) to analyze the content misconceptions and the nature of misconceptions in Biology of pre-service teachers (2) to develop and check the quality of three - tire diagnostic tests based on misconception in Biology of pre-service teachers. The sample this study includes student teachers undergraduate biology majors at four-year Bachelor of Education course. Bachelor of Education and Education Bachelor 164 people. The instrument used in the research are 1) Test to survey the contents misconceptions in Biology 2) Three - tire diagnostic tests in Biology 3) The tool for checking quality of criterion – related validity of diagnostic test by using Thinking aloud method. Data were analyzed by content analysis , using descriptive statistics and checking the quality of validity and reliability by using employ Computer Program
Result were as follows: The finding found that (1)Three – tier diagnostic tests based on misconceptions in biology is the concept of Homeostasis consisting of three content include 1) Respiratory 2) Circulation 3) Excretory system, which 17 common misconceptions. (2) The quality of three tier diagnostic test developed was valid in content , the difficulty was 0.20-0.60 , the discrimination was 0.25-0.88 , the reliability of test was 0.80
