Effects of Work-Family Conflict on Employees’ Career Compromise in Enterprises: A Case Study of Henan Province, China

บทคัดย่อ

This study aims to examine the current status of work-family conflict, the current status of career compromise, and the differences in work-family conflict among employees in different demographic and family characteristic contexts in enterprises in Henan Province, and then to identify the impact of work-family conflict on employees' career compromise choices. The questionnaire survey and data analysis found that work-family conflict significantly affects employees' career compromise, while work engagement is a mediator. The study results provide new perspectives for understanding the impact of work-family conflict on employees' career development and provide practical guidance for corporate management. The study's novelty is that it incorporates two-way work-family conflict and employees' career compromises into the same framework from the perspective of role conflict. Still, future research needs to be further expanded due to the limitations of the cross-sectional research methodology and sample selection.
