The People’s Participation in Administration of Borplub Sub-district Administrative Organization Muang District, Nakhon Pathom Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the people’s participation towards administration of Borplub sub-district administrative organization muang district, Nakhon Pathom province, 2) to compare the the people’s participation towards administration of Borplub sub-district administrative organization muang district, Nakhon Pathom province classified by personal factors and 3) to study the problems, obstacles and suggestions about the people’s participation towards administration of Borplub sub-district administrative organization muang district, Nakhon Pathom province.

            This research was a mixed methods research of the qualitative and quantitative researches. The quantitative research was conducted by studying the samples of 382 respondents which selected by stratified random sampling of 8,344 persons who were people are age more than 18 year in Borplub sub-district administrative organization muang district, Nakhon Pathom province. The sample size derived by Taro Tamane’s formula.  The tool used for data collection was 5 levels rating scale questionnaire at reliability level of 0.944. Statistics used to analyze data were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, T-test, One Way Analysis of Variance and Least Significant Different: LSD. The quantitative research was conducted by In-depth interviewing the 7 key informants who were selected by purposive sampling. Data analyzing was used content analysis technique.

            The research findings were as follows:

            1) The people’s participation towards administration of Borplub sub-district administrative organization muang district, Nakhon Pathom province in overall was at high level. After considering each aspect found that all aspects were also at high level and ranked from highest to lowest level was as follows: the participation in decision aspect (  = 3.29), participation in interest aspect (  = 3.29) and  participation in operation aspect (  = 3.29).

            2) The comparison of people’s opinions towards administration of Borplub sub-district administrative organization muang district, Nakhon Pathom province separated by different factors of each person including gender age educational level occupation income per mount during of living in community and the number of service found that the samples who were difference of age educational level and the number of service were different opinions at reliability level of 0.05 and accepted the hypothesis. But for other factors, their opinions were not different and rejected the hypothesis.

            3) The problems and obstacles of administration of Borplub sub-district administrative organization muang district, Nakhon Pathom province were lack of the participation of people’s for strategy planning, lack of the promotion about knowledge social mind unity and motivation for development planning suggestions were they should give an opportunity for participation of people’s in development planning, they should have the clearly regulations for practice and they should give an opportunity for participation of people’s in suggestion for sustainable development.
