Abstract

This article aims 1) to develop a causal relationship of lean manufacturing application to operational efficiency of automotive part manufacturing industry and 2) to analyze a causal relationship of lean manufacturing application to operational efficiency of automotive part manufacturing industry. The data collected by questionnaires, testing with 400 samplings who executives and managers of automotive part manufacturing industry. The research sampling was accidental sampling. The reliability value was 0.859 of the questionnaires. The statistical analyzed data were percentage, mean, standard deviation and the confirmation component analysis.

Results of the research showed that 1) the results of testing the structure equation model was congruent with the empirical data which a according of hypothesis ( = 68.943, /df = 1.209, p-value = 0.534, GFI = 0.972, AGFI = 0.952, RMSEA = 0.022 and CFI = 0.998)and 2) the operational efficiency of automotive part manufacturing industry was directly influenced by lean manufacturing factors, secondly was attitude factor and total quality management (TQM) factors with the influence coefficients of 0.87, 0.84 and 0.69, respectively. The research results reflect that eliminating waste in production by maintain inventory at low levels, a few employees, the space using did not large, reduce the number of suppliers and reduce internal variation which was reduce costs and managing resources appropriately.
