Value Added for the English Major Student, a case study of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Suan Dusit University.

Abstract
The objective of the research was 1) to study the basic information about the value added of the English major student, 2) to compare the opinion of the value added and 3) to develop and evaluate the guideline of the value added. The Mixed Research Method between quantitative research method from 300 sample groups by calculating from the formula of Krejcie and Morgan (1970) to determine the sampling size at 95% confidence level with a margin of error = 0.05 and population proportion = 0.5. The statistics used in term of percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and One- way ANOVA. The focus group used for the qualitative research method to develop and evaluate the value-added guideline by 9 informants and 9 experts with the purposive sampling method.
The results of the research were as follow: 1) The overall of the value added of the English major student was in the high rank of need (= 3.72, S.D. 0.44). First; learning and innovation skill, second; life and career skill and the third; media information and technology. 2) The comparison of the opinion has shown that the different gender, age, level of education and place of work had a different opinion of the valued added with a statistical significance level of .05, which learning skill and innovation, life and career skill and media information and technology were also important for the value-added development. 3) The result of 4 guidelines can be seen as, a) the quality’s improvement and learning ability and innovation for value added, b) the median information and technology’s promoting to create the innovation with the needs of society, c) the life and career skill development for the modern working society and d) the network and academic cooperation to promote the potential and the ability of the English major students both inside and outside the country and 5) The result of guideline evaluation; the 4 guidelines are relevant to the society of change for working in the present and future.
