Competencies affecting employee performance in the Northern Industrial Estate

This research article aims to : 1) investigate the influence of personal factors—such as gender, age, work experience, and job position—on the job performance of employees in industrial estates in Northern Thailand, and 2) examine the competencies affecting work efficiency, which include achievement orientation, service-mindedness, expertise accumulation, integrity and ethics, and teamwork. The sample consisted of 381 employees from Northern industrial estates who responded to a questionnaire developed by the researcher using a five-point rating scale. The instrument demonstrated a reliability coefficient of 0.86. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and inferential statistics, including Independent Sample T-Test, One-Way ANOVA, and Multiple Regression Analysis. The hypotheses were tested at a significance level of 0.05.
The research results found that 1) The overall competency in job performance of employees in industrial estates in Northern Thailand was at a high level across all five aspects ( =4.39, S.D. = .389) which included achievement orientation, service-mindedness, expertise accumulation, integrity, and teamwork. 2) The overall job performance efficiency of employees in industrial estates in Northern Thailand was also at a high level ( =4.29, S.D. = .465) consisting of work quality, work quantity, time management, and cost management. 3) A comparative analysis of employees' performance levels in Northern industrial estates, categorized by personal factors, showed no statistically significant differences at the 0.05 level.
