Abstract

This study aims to (1) examine the level of satisfaction and (2) compare satisfaction among older adults in accessing health information via chatbots in the Bangkok Metropolitan Area. A quantitative survey research design was employed. The sample consisted of 400 older adults selected through a multi-stage sampling technique from five high-density districts. The research instrument was a questionnaire with an Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) index ranging from 0.67 to 1.00 and a reliability coefficient of 0.89. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (percentage, mean, and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (independent t-test and one-way ANOVA), with a significance level set at .05.

The results indicate that overall satisfaction with chatbot-based health information access was at the highest level (mean = 4.32). Responsiveness received the highest mean score, followed by information credibility and language and communication, whereas ease of use showed the lowest mean score. The primary barrier was limited digital literacy and unfamiliarity with smartphone typing. Hypothesis testing revealed that differences in gender, age, and user experience significantly affected satisfaction at the .05 level. Notably, the 75–80 age group reported the lowest satisfaction, reflecting limitations in digital skills and physical conditions affecting technology use.
