Abstract

The purposes of this research were: 1) To examine the effect of transformational
leadership on organizational efficiency among Bangkok Metropolitan Administration
executives. 2) To investigate the effect of transformational leadership on job satisfaction
among Bangkok Metropolitan Administration executives, and 3) To analyze the effect
of transformational leadership on organizational efficiency through job satisfaction
serving as the mediating variable among Bangkok Metropolitan Administration executives.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration executives of 406 individuals were selected
as samples of this research. Multi-stage sampling, and a questionnaire with a 5-point
Likert scale was developed as a research instrument to collect data. For data analysis,
structural equation modelling was employed to test research hypotheses, coupled with
descriptive analysis. The results revealed that: 1) Transformational leadership had
a direct positive effect on organizational efficiency at statistical significance of the 0.05 level.
2) Transformational leadership had a direct positive effect on job satisfaction
at statistical significance of the 0.001 level, and 3) Transformational leadership had
a indirect positive effect on organizational efficiency through a mediating variable of
job satisfaction at statistical significance of the 0.05 level. Job satisfaction was
a mediating variable that could function as a complementary partial mediator of
the effect of transformational leadership on organizational efficiency. The relationship
between transformational leadership and organizational efficiency suggests
that enhancing the transformational leadership of Bangkok Metropolitan
Administration executives can increase employees' job satisfaction, which subsequently
leads to sustainable improvements in organizational efficiency.
